Sunday racing at the BIG A (Belmont) and we have a nice 9 race card. We will be looking to cover each of the races today and look forward to closing the weekend out with some winners. I will be focused on the early double (Races 1 & 2) and taking down a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I’m not a fan of the runners that have raced so I landed on a firster, (2) ANYWHO. She went fast in back to back gate works then followed that up with a breeze. The 7F fits the Bolt D’Oro mold and the 7:2ML indicates that there may be chatter about this gal.
$ 10.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 30.00
We’ll also use (2) ANYWHO in R3 and try to cash a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(6) Big Agenda has come alive and (7) Quiet Out East woke up against similar last time.
$ 7.00 Double 2 w/ 6, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(9) JAKE ROCKS scratched yesterday for this as he may have found the right group. Atras switches to Vargas who likes to control the action up front. If he gets to the rail and saves ground from out there, it’ll be hard to run him down. (1) MASKED MARAUDER should stay on the grass but Rudy moves him back to the dirt. He’ll need the speed to back up but figures to save some ground all the way around. (3) DOCTOR LOVE drops to his lowest level of his career, He faced better claimers last time running ok and meets a very suspect field of 25k’s. With the added distance and Davis back up, I have to take a shot at this 12:1ML.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 3, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
(1) LISA’S VISION looks likes a must use as she’s been no worse than 2nd while sprinting on the grass. She’ll be closing in late. (2) DUFRESNE has speed and will have to deal with a couple of fillies that like the lead. The cut back to 6F will help her though. I’m against the favorite, Royal Dancer as she just broke her maiden, Clement is where I landed. He sends out a rabbit, Saratoga Gaze, to make sure the pace is hot to set up his closer (8) TIZ A PITY. She has a strong kick and all Davis has to do is keep her in the clear. I would argue if you wanted to single this gal as she looks strong to me. (7) SILKEN DOLLAR is the wise guy pick as she finished right behind Lisa last time and Franco can make up that distance.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 8 w/ 1, 2, 7, 8 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(1) OUR ROSIE DIAMOND has a decent speed figure for this group and makes the necessary drop. I prefer her stable mate if she draws in. (5) MAGGIE T ran well in her first start and then tried MSW fillies. She moves back down which will help her a lot. I will try the outside here with (12) MY GORGEOUS. She ran evenly in her first start and probably learned a little. She should stay clear of traffic and picks up Manny. The barn is doing well and it wouldn’t surprise me if she showed a little more speed today. (3X) PEBBLE LANE draws in, retains Davis and drops. All positive moves for this gal.
