Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(2) Ranting is the only experienced horse in this bunch and we should expect to see some major improvements this second time out. The horse is training lights out and a must play in here. The Pletcher horse in (5) Snowy Evening is my top pick in here who will be getting an aggressive ride from Irad in here and the breeding screams turf. My last play will be Jose Ortiz aboard (4) Kingsley Creek who has some consistently good workouts coming in and I see this horse sitting on the rail behind the pace and have a say late.

Race 2:
(2) Foolish Ghost is my top pick in here who has the inside position and the early speed to find the lead and not look back. (3) Bronx Bomber should be sitting right behind that speed and wait for a lane to open up late to run down the front runners.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Englehart claimed (2) INSPIRATION POINT two back and he responded well next time out with a close 2nd. This “Chrome” stretches out a little which should help him get there this time. He faces a suspect shipper from Oaklawn who figures to take money because of the connections. We’ll try a price, (4) SHARPOON, with the switch to Davis and the Classic Empire, (5) EMPIRE RIDGE, switching back to dirt for the exacta.

We’ll also use Inspiration Point in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(1) Simple Sugar has the inside post position and the early speed to find the rail and compete late. The horse to beat is (5) Trinity Titoli and should be on the lead early and not look back. Manny knows what to do with a live horse and most likely will handle this lower level field.

Race 6:
(4) Subsidize is my top pick in here to be able to sit behind the pace and wait for the lane late to open up. I like horses coming into their next race after a win and Flavien knows how to run down horses on grass. (1) Alado will run a similar race under Irad Ortiz and we should anticipate this horse to be on the rail early and have plenty of stamina late. (5) Ring of Fire off the claim for Rudy Rodriguez is a very dangerous horse in here. Luis Saez is getting the mount and one thing that we can guarantee is that Luis will give this horse a great ride.

Race 7:
If (3) Artemus Citylimits runs to his best, then there won't be a horse in this field that can beat him. With that said, he is coming into this one failing as the heavy favorite and this field does have some talent; inconsistent, but talented. (6) Maxwell Esquire is in good form coming into this one and Irad will have this horse poised for an impressive stretch drive. I will then look to the outside in (8) Tiger Blood and (9) Casanova Kitten. The speed each of these horses has will negate the disadvantage in post position and both will be in the action early. I really like the thought of Johnny V having the early lead and bullying others trying to pass.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Pletcher is on a roll and sends out (6) QUOTABELLE for her 2nd start. The Distorted Humor’s like more ground and she goes from 6F to 1M today. The barn is hot and we need to stick with it for now. (1) DEMANDSRESPECT also wants distance and Irad returns to the saddle. He’ll finally get a dry track and a Big Sandy turn to stretch these Union Rags legs out. (3) DON’T OVERLOOK ME can not be overlooked. The “other” Pletcher is bred to be a 1M Specialist. She took a ton of money on debut but didn’t care for the slop. She might even try for the lead today as the race lacks that. Wire to wire for me.

Race 9:
This should be a good one as we have a wide open Manila Stakes. I think Pletcher is using (1) CHANCEUX as a rabbit but speed is hard to catch on this rock hard turf course recently. He will provide a fast pace to set up the barn stud (2) ANNAPOLIS. He probably was a little short for his 2022 debut but still managed 2nd on a soft turf. A must use for me. (6) SMOKIN’T usually fires and Johnny V is in a groove. Should sit chilly and will get first jump on the closers. I landed on the Kitten’s Joy colt (3) READY TO PURRFORM. He just keeps improving for Cox as he just missed beating a good bunch on Preakness day. Rosario returns and I’m expecting a big effort today

Race 10:
(6) UNKOALAFIED has some speed and with the cut back, she may try to steal this one. Look for Kendrick to gun her out early. (8) LAUGHTER is the play for me. Castellano and L1 is added as she too cuts back and drops to face a softer field. I don’t think we’ll see 5:1 ML but one can only hope. All in. (3) HOPE FOR THE BEST hasn’t proven that he can’t run as he makes his debut. It’s never good when a trainer starts them off for sale but you get Clement and Davis and there isn’t a whole lot in here. (9) RENT CONTROL is still trying to figure it out as is the trainer as a fourth jockey in four starts is listed. If she can clear from out there, they’ll have to reel her in.
