The last Saturday in May and we are looking to take down the Belmont card. We have a 10 race card day with some competitive races. I will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 (Races 5-7) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R10: 4, 8, 10, 12
Cost: $ 48.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 1:
I am going two deep in here and relying on the Pletcher horse, (3) Tough Tickets, to be too much for the field. I think that the apprentice (Jose Gomez) will be aggressive from the jump and this horse will be too much for the field. I like the thought of Luis Saez aboard the (2) Breaking Stones being aggressive enough from the break and finding a nice rail position throughout. The lane will open up late and I trust Luis Saez against the field to have the strongest finish.
$5.00 Ex Box 2,3 Cost: $10.00
Race 2:
We have to go with the heavy favorite in here and worth the single. This horse is taking a significant drop in class and most likely going to romp this field. In case this horse is not what the PP's are showing, I will be including (6) Dangerous Edge from the outside have enough stamina late to have a competitive stretch drive.
$10.00 Ex 5 w/ 6 Cost: $10.00
$3.00 Ex 6 w/ 5 Cost: $3.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3 :
The change to Rosario on (4) THE SLEEPYCHIPMONK may get over looked. If they’re not paying attention, he could go off close to the ML. This Lookin For Lucky out of a Blame Mare wants more ground and he gets it. Rosario may get aggressive with this gelding and be closer to the leaders early
Both (5) Tuesday’s Child can hang in there or look for (8) Lord Brownie to come late
$ 10.00 Exacta 4 w/ 5, 8 Cost $ 20.00
We’ll also use Sleepychipmonk in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(2) Jack The Cat and (11) Battalion to take down the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 2, 11 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(1) Libretto will be sent to the front early and the horse should improve from her debut performance. Jose Ortiz will have the head start come stretch drive and this horse will be closing strongly. (3) With Bells On will improve from the debut effort and Kendrick will allow this horse to find her footing early and fan out wide late to eat up ground quickly. (7) Full Count Felicia is one of the most experienced on the race track in the field and I think that makes a difference late. Luis Saez is going to have this horse forwardly placed throughout and the experience should show up late in a nice closing effort. (10) I'm Glad had an extremely impressive debut and should only improve in this one. Johnny V will not mess around in here and this horse will be a force throughout.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 7,10 w/ 1,3,7,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,3 w/ 1,3,7,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(1) Thinking it Over on the inside and Rosario is getting the mount for the second time. He should put this horse in a better position to suceed and the inside rail position will pay off late down the stretch. (8) Ready A.P. wants the lead and will be sent to it under Irad. We should expect this horse to be on the rail and Irad will close aggressively down the stretch. (9) Makin My Move will be looking to win this one off the pace. This horse possesses plenty of speed against this field, but I think more versatile than the rest. Luis will save plenty of energy to find the lane late and find the wire first.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,8,9 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
(2) Breadman with Flavien Prat is a very dangerous horse to the inside and we should anticipate a big run from this horse late. (4) Lord Flintshire and (5) Rally Squirrel are exiting the same race into this one and I think that equates to huge runs in here for both of them. I will close with these three in this stacked field to get our ticket home!
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 3,4,5 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Pletcher and Brown are going at it again. The race goes through their runners. (2) HIGHLY MOTIVATED is the class as he did well on the Derby trail but it didn’t work out that first Saturday in May. He likely needed his last and figures to be tough in this spot. His stable mate (9) STAGE RAIDER is lightly raced and progressing nicely through each level of competition. A powerful one two punch but I’m going for the knockout with (5) TOO BOSS. Third time’s the charm for Franco as they team up again and cut back slightly. He keeps improving his speed figures with each race and the 1M should bring out his best.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 5 w/ 2, 5, 8, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
With the winner scratching out, Clement and Rosario have a strong hand (9) DERRYNANE. She was impressive last year and just missed in a prep for this at Keeneland. She looks to be the threat late in the game. I’ll include (10) SAIL BY who exits the Breeders cup run but was farther back from Haughty in that one. She’s eligible to improve and is worth the 15:1 ML. (12) CHARDY PARTY was bet and closed fast to win on debut. She needs to stay closer to this bunch early to have a shot of running them down late. (1) CHAMPAGNE POETRY picks up Saez. That’s enough for me to include.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 9, 10 w/ 1, 9, 10, 12 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(8) SHARP SENSATION has already finished first against this level but was DQ’d last time. A similar effort is probably enough here. (4) EMINENCY tries turf and has speed. The course has been kind to front runners so if he takes to the lawn, they may not catch him. (10) MARTINEZ moves back to turf and retains Rosario. Connections don’t win much so I’ll include but back (12) TONALISTIC a little more. He moved to grass last time but made up some ground late after a bump start and run. Jose makes a difference and should steer clear of trouble way out there.
