It is the final Saturday of racing Belmont before we move to the Summer place to be! We have a stacked 11 race card today and we are looking to maximize our bankroll heading into Saratoga next week. I will be looking to take down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 (Races 6-8) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown with TWO "Play of the Day" picks and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

R10: 1, 5, 6, 7
R11: 1, 6, 10 Cost: $ 48.00
Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(2) Lookin Grand gets some class relief and coming into this one with an impressive last race and a bullet workout. Johnny V will be aggressive early and should have enough left in the tank to run a big race throughout. (3) Kimbo Dancer is my last play in here gaining Rosario in here. This horse is switching surfaces and gets a fantastic grass rider. We should anticipate this horse to find the rail early and have a late kick to compete.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,4,5
Race 2:
I need to take the entry if I am getting Irad and Luis Saez as the combo jockeys. (9) Trappezoid from the outside fresh off the claim and picking up Jose Ortiz is a great play for me. This horse had a tough trip at this distance two back and I think has a redemption race in here. My last play will be (4) Sicilia Mike who closes strongly under Eric Cancel and I think there will be some tiring horses late in this lower level field; very much worth the price we will get on the tote board.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,9 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I am drawn to the two first time starters as this field has proven that winning may not be an option for them. (1) Funny How is going out for a hot barn and gets L1. Two bullet works may help this filly get to the front. They might have to catch this one. I went with the girl next door, (2) PHOTON. She went fast 6 days ago for this and Jose takes the call. Guessing they sit chilly early and tip out for a stretch run. There are many in here that want and need the lead so pace should help the closers come and get them.
Both (1) Funny How and (7) Voleuse look solid underneath.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 2 w/ 1, 7 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use PHOTON in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double play.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 2 w/ 1, 4 Cost $ 12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 5:
Both of Brown’s runners look sharp. (9) LONESOME FUGITIVE has been out working his stablemate, Graded On A Curve so we’ll land on the Fugitive. He’s faced this level once and was getting close late to settle for 2nd. He looks primed for a strong effort and 7:2 ML is a steal.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 9 w/ 7, 10 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Lonesome Fugitive in R5 and try to cash in on a Daily Double play.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 9 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 6:
(8) November Rein gets some class relief in here and this is the second race off an extended layoff. This race sets up well to run a big one in here under Rosario. (1) To A T is going to find the rail early and be forwardly placed under Irad. This horse will be running her best late and I think that shapes up well against this field who have a couple who will battle for the lead early. (7) Ruvies In Time was a bit compromised from the break last time out against a couple in this field and still closed well. I think with a better start we will see an improved effort that could land this horse in the winner’s circle.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,7,8 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
(1) Mcklulick is going to be my top pick in here under Irad. This horse has been screaming for more distance and I think is a victim of tough rides. Irad will have this horse poised late to be the fastest late. I will also be including the other Chad Brown horses in here, because come on. Chad is unbelievable on grass and leaving any of his horses off of your ticket is such a big risk. My last play will be States debut from (10) Concert Hall who will have the late kick all overseas horses seem to have on grass and be a big threat to hit the wire first.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,10 w/ 1,3,5,10
$1.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 1,3,5,10
Race 8:
(6) Hot Peppers is my top pick in here to continue on the winning ways and Luis Saez will be charging late down the stretch. (3) Half is Enough attracts Irad Ortiz in here and takes a major leap in competition, but I think will be an extremely tough catch late. (4) Happy Soul will be sent towards the front and has the speed to maintain a big race throughout. (2) Smash Ticket is a must play for me because I do not want to be burned for not including Mike Smith on my ticket. This horse should benefit from the post position and is ascending at the right time.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,3,4,6 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 2,3,4,6 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
I’ll use two from the US and two from IRE to kick off this late pick 3. (7) SY DOG was gaining in the late stages of the G2 American and now goes 10F today. This Slumber should want all of that. (3) NAPOLEONIC WAR has been improving in every start and also closed with interest in the P/Ridge. Faces the big boys today but has potential. (10) NATIONS PRIDE is three for three at this distance and entices Dettori to fly in for the mount. They’re thinking Breeders Cup but the 1Million prize is there for the taking. (13) STONE AGE finished in front of Pride and also has two wins at this distance. It looks like these two will be fighting out till the end.
$ 7.00 WPS 10 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 10, 13 w/ 3, 7, 10, 13 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(7) SALT CAY will attract attention as he finally gets on the turf after being rained of twice. He was well clear of the 3rd place finisher in his last and Brown switches back to the new go to guy for this. (1) DREAMPOINT always seems to come with his run but never gets there. He needs the right field and I’m not convinced he found it today. Likely hits the board though. (5) FEATHERS ROAD has found the turf to his liking. Two strong finishes should have him ready for this. Regular rider is up and there is speed to close into. The wise guy pick for me is the Street Boss colt (6) BRADY'S LEGACY switching to the turf. He ran ok last year in two dirt attempts and gets L1 for his 2022 debut. He's been working fast and the connections are enjoying a good meet. I'm all in on this guy.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 6, 7 w/ 1, 5, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 11:
I’m not a fan of the favorite, Sheriff Bianco, and I will not use. The other Ward, (6) AFTER FIVE is one I’ll include. He gets Johnny V back and has a win on this course. (1) UMBRIA has been awful facing much better and now switches to Irad. The time off should help him regroup to find his speed. I’ll go to the outside and take a shot with the Central Banker gelding (10) HE’S GOT IT. His debut at this distance may have been his best race to date. He got back on the turf last time but it may have been to far. The cut back to 6F and with Lezcano up, gives this guy a shot at a price. Luzzi and trainer are hard to like But (8) COURAGEOOUS OH LA is a Courageous Cat cutting back to sprint on the turf. He’s produced many winners with that scenario and what’s not to like about a 20:1 ML
