The racing community may be a little hungover today after a great day of racing yesterday. Keep an eye on the sky as rain may play a factor today. As of now there are limited scratches but they haven't taken out the MTO's. We have 9 scheduled to go and we have you covered. I will be condensing my plays to just the number and will be taking down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 ( Races 4-6 ) . Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
There are several that want and need the lead in this 6F Jersey Girl. So I’ll look to for the stalker/closer to gather momentum from the back and come with her late run. To me, that’s (2) DIAMOND COLLECTOR. She usually is close t the front but those are longer races. She doesn’t appear as fast as some of these so Castellano will likely sit chilly early and mount his charge. The cut back looms large here as she possesses a pretty strong late kick to run by them all.
Both (1) Gimmick and (3) Sweet Solare look solid underneath.

We’ll also use Diamond Collector in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(3) MALIBU CURL was thought highly enough that the connections placed her in a G2 last year. She didn’t recover that well as she didn’t return the same and then went on the shelf. She returned this year against some salty groups and managed to hit the board both times. The fact that Jose is sticking with her is a good sign and I’m expecting a live filly today. I’m all in. The lightly raced (1) FIRST TO ACT can be a good one. This Curlin stretched out nicely to break her maiden and picks up Saez. She doesn’t need to improve that much to challenge this group. (6) EQUAL PAY has to be mentioned as this barn just keeps winning. She does go longer today and I’m not totally convinced she wants to do that. I’ll use defensively only

Race 8:
A somewhat wide open turf sprint as the favorite is tagged at 7:2. That’s the entry but I prefer (1A) MISS DELICIOUS over her stable mate. Her speed figures are a little better than the rest and she gets Johnny V. The goose egg from the trainer is the only eye sore. (6) U SHOULD B DANCING is where I landed. Rudy goes with the hot hand with the other Jose and the recent switch back to the turf seems to be the right move. This War Dancer won’t have any trouble getting this 7F. (8) FREEDOMOF THE PRESS tried slightly better last time and it showed in deep stretch. With that under her belt, Saez may try to steal it on the front end today. She chased last time and faded late.

Race 9:
There will be three in here that will take most of the money. (4) STRIKE PRICE (MTO), (11) I AM THE LAW and (12) SPLENDID SUMMER. I can’t argue with that as all three have a race that would likely beat this group if they Re-Pete that performance today. I’m interested in the Sharp gelding getting back to the turf. (1) KING OF STING has had many tries at this level and has come up short. His best two races have been on the lawn and they recruit Jose for this. He was bet heavy in the April race where he had a little trouble at the start and steadied a bit through the running of the race. I can’t fault him in the sloppy last race and looks live to me today
