Big Pete will be looking to take down a couple of his "Plays of the Day" as well as the late double (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:
Race 1:
I am going to take a stand in the first race and lean heavily on (5) JohnnyPump who I think will benefit from an early speed battle and have the strongest legs late. I trust Linda Rice in these claiming races and think that Lezcano will find the perfect lane to run down the tiring front runners. I will be including (11) Speed Effect in case this horse is left alone on the lead and that head start on the field come stretch drive comes into play.
$5.00 WPS 5 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex Box 5,11 Cost: $4.00
Race 2:
(1) Scuttlebuzz looks good in here and I trust this horse to find the early rail and have a strong surge late; plus, we get a bonus horse in (1A) Bourbon Mission. (5) Colton's Command gets Joel Rosario choosing him over the Clement horse and I think is in really good form to run down tiring horses late. (6) Shiraz has been running well but getting compromised in the last few races. I think Luis needs to be aggressive early and allow this horse a chance to pass one or two horses late and not fan out too wide. (7) Turn of Event is coming in strong and will be towards the front throughout. Jose Ortiz may have the best horse in here and he will make sure to give this horse a winning ride.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,5,6,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 1,5,6,7 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
The Uncle Mo filly, (8) LIA MARINA made up a lot of ground trying to run down Bubble Rock who returned to graduate next out. Rosario may encourage her to be a little closer early and reel them in around the turn. She likely goes off the favorite, but unless we see a star appear from a firster, she looks better than these.
(7) Always Connected and (9) Radiant Gem are the choice to fill in the exacta.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 8 w/ 7, 9 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
(8) MOMMIE’S JEWEL faced much better and it showed. Now returns to dirt where he broke his maiden with Jose up. They hook up again and face a very weak field. They will sit chilly for a little bit and wait for the cheap speed to back up.
(1) Posse Can Disco will try to hang and (10) Irish Giant will pass the tiring hoses late to fill in the exacta.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 8, 10 Cost $ 18.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(5) Desert Tornado is a firster that I like in here to show some early speed and be able to find the rail early. I trust Rosario to save ground throughout and have an impressive race first time out. (6) Maseta has experience and should improve from the decent debut. This horse will be closing strongly late and should have the lane to run into. (9) Miracle Nicky has a race under her belt and Rudy Rodriguez horses always improve second time out dramatically. (12) Excursionniste just missed on grass last time out and experience matters, so this horse is a must play in my opinion.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,12 w/ 5,6,9,12 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 6,9 w/ 5,6,9,12 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(1) Determined Fury is my top pick in here with the rail position and coming in with good form. I think Rosario plots this horse well throughout and has the strongest kick late. (3) Repo Rocks is coming in to this race in good form and I think Irad will be aggressive throughout in this sprint; which I really like.(9) Fair Haired Boy is going to save the energy throughout and come strong down the stretch and I like that tactic against this big field. (12) King James is going to be coming strong as well from the outside and I trust Jose Ortiz to find that lane late.
$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,12 w/ 1,3,9,12 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,9 w/ 1,3,9,12 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
(1) Wicked Lady is a firster that I will give the go on in here with those bullet workouts coming in. Kendrick will be aggressive throughout and if left alone could have a winning effort first time out. (3) Glittering Prize had a front running debut and was caught late. This horse should improve from that effort and have a little more stamina in here. (4) Sweet Lies has some bullet workouts as well and Jose Ortiz is getting the mount in here. This horse should be placed behind (3) Glittering Prize and attempt to pass late. (9) Liberty Flame from the outside is an interesting horse in here for me as I think this horse will be forwardly placed throughout and trusting pedigree in here.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,3,4,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,9 w/ 1,3,4,9 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Looks like (10) TAMAHERE may have her G1 status back. After a few sub par efforts to start the year, she has put it together in her last three. Irad will go and try to wire them again. Stable mate (6) LOVE AND THUNDER will make her earn it as this gal finally lived up to her billing in her last. She couldn’t hold off High Opinion when they met, but appears to be a little better now. (3) HIGH OPINION and Saez will be the danger as they just missed the Ballston Spa at the Spa and will be mounting a late bid again. I will get greedy and swing for the fence. (2) FLOWER POINT is a Point Of Entry finally stretching out to 1M. She’s 2 for 2 at 7F and exits the best race of her career. She followed that up with a bullet from the gate and Lezcano takes the mount.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 6 w/ 2, 3, 6, 10 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
I don’t see how you can leave (11) SOLDIER RISING off your ticket. She’s been going longer but has won at this 9F distance. A Re-Pete of her Derby run last month will get her picture taken and it’s Rosario and Clement teaming up. (9) PUBLIC SECTOR has developed nicely for Brown this summer. I think he needs to improve a little more to tackle this bunch but that’s what this barn does. I’ll try to beat both with the Cox runner (2) SLICKED BACK. The 12F may have been a bit too long for this Quality Road so the 9F is a plus. Seaz will likely make his move early and hope to try to catch the closer off guard. (4) FOUNDER is finally figuring this game out and is ready for the big boys. They will try to turn the table on his stable mate, Sector.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 11 w/ 2, 4, 9, 11 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
We’ll try to cash this late Pick 3 using three in the finale. (9) KANT HURRY LOVE will stalk or go after the break. A decent 2nd last time against a solid field should have her on her toes for this. (8) LAOCHI has had some trouble getting away from the gate. If she can fix that, the Uncle Mo influence will take her the rest of the way. With a few speeds entered, I’ll lean on the Rudy filly to put it all together today. (4) SILVER FIST gets the upgrade to Jose. She has speed to position herself and has been working fast. She seems live to be a factor today.
