10 races for this Friday card at Saratoga and we are on the main muddy track for all of them. The Coronation Cup and The Wilton Stakes both for 3yr old fillies are the co-feature. I will be traveling today, but still ready to cash in some tickets. I will be looking to take down the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
We start the card off with a NY bred MSW most likely with some moisture in the ground and I am going to spread a bit. My top play in this one will be (2) Concerti who gets the inside draw and the speed master, Luis Saez. I expect this horse to break well and be forwardly placed on the rail from the jump; which plays off late. (1) Run for the Honey is the only horse with experience under their belt and that matters in these 2 year old races. I think Tyler will have a horse full of run late and could have sites on the finish line first. (4) Book of Wisdom is another Mott/Alvarado 2 year old and coming off a convincing win on the Thursday card in race 3, I just can't leave this horse off the ticket. (6) Awesome Czech is my last play who is speedy in the morning and should be able to translate that to the afternoon. The weather should help this one out.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,4,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 2:
(3) Dreamlike is the play here and I'm not going to over think this one. This Gun Runner has never finished worst that 1.5 lengths from the winner in 3 career starts and is back facing maidens again.
$20.00 WIN 3 Cost: $20.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(7) QUARREL becomes the choice as they move this to the muddy main track. They will come out of the 1M chute and the field is cut down. This Speightstown was bet heavy in her main track debut and ran a decent 3rd after a bumpy start. The resurgent Castellano takes the mount and with Artie Schiller underneath, she should move well over the moisture in the track. The only other two bred to handle mud vs grass are the two on the rail.
I’ll use (1) Lifelovenlaughter and (2) Modern Love to come late for a peice
$ 10.00 Ex 7 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 20.00
We’ll also use (7) Quarrel in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(2) Unsung Melody or (5) Randomized in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 7 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(7) Whiskey and Wine is my top pick in here under Tyler Gaffalione. I think that this horse will break clear from the outside and finally run the race that the bettors thought they would on debut. I like the late kick opportunity here and think that we will get a decent price on this one. (10) Scherzano is 0 for 17 but has hit the board 7 times. He's run back to back decent efforts with Javier up and he meets a very suspect field today. (9) Empire Sky is my last play to the outside who has shown nice closing speed on turf and should be set up well to eat up ground late.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 3,9,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
We're using them all. All three of them. (2) Blue Devil, (8) Oglethorpe and (11) Alfio are the players. With only three, we'll press the all button and move on. I prefer the Arrogate colt over the other two. (8) Oglethorpe can take control early and never look back.
$5.00 WPS 8 Cost: $15.00
Race 7:
I do not have a strong opinion in this one and spreading out to four horses; I will be stating in order by number. (3) No More Talk is the SEASONED vet in here with Irad getting the mount. This horse looks to be the horse to beat and a smart inclusion on our play. (7) Heir Port is a horse I like to improve against the (3) in here and I think that workouts are reflective of what this horse will be doing; FINDING THE EARLY LEAD. (1A) Gandy Dancing cuts back to his preferred 6F distance. He can also handle the off going. I must use with Saez taking over. (10) Striking Speed to the outside should be able to find a stalking position early under Rosario and should be strong down the stretch.
$2.00 Ex 3,10 w/ 3,7,1A,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 7,1A w/ 3,7,1A,10 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
A watered down field as two main contenders have come out. (3) CEES GET DEGREES now has the advantage as lone speed. He drops slightly and Irad won easy on him on the Black Eyed Susan's day undercard. He has the speed to control or stalk. He'll have to hold off (9) NIFTY who will be rolling late. This 7yr old ships in and is introduced to Castallano. His Grandad, Gold Fever, was a freak on wet tracks and this is his first time trying it. With some left over moisture, he's worth a shot at a decent price.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 3, 9 w/ 1, 3, 9 Cost $ 12.00
Race 9:
(9) L STREET LADY will inherit the favorite role as we are down to four. It was a nice win in the jersey Girl but the time wasn't that great. We'll try to beat her with (7) UNIFIED ALLIANCE who finished right behind the Lady. Keep an eye on how the track is playing and if speed is holding on, this Gal might change tactics and go early and try to bottom the field out. If Javier gets aggressive, they get tothe wire first. (6) WILDHAWK also exits the Jersey Girl. She could make things interesting for closers as she may want the lead again. Breaking inside the other speed doesn't help. (3) ANNA'S ARABESQUE just broke her maiden and tries winners for the first time. Not an easy task but she's not facing any monsters in here.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 6, 7 w/ 3, 6, 7, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
We'll try to keep the ticket short and use just two in here. Hopefully we get much more full fields this weekend. Just like yesterday, Irad draws in for the nightcap and is a must use. (16) VALENZAN DAY was looking for an off the turf event and his gets it. Has speed to go or stalk so the break will probably determine that. Rice stays hot so the next out off the claim runner, (15) MAGNOLIA MIDNIGHT is a must use for me. This gelding gets a 1M, 1.5 turn, AND Jose. A lot to like facing mostly turf runners on the dirt.
