We cannot stay away from the rain this summer, but we still have a nice day for racing at the Spa. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11); GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:
R1: 1, 4
R2: 2, 5, 8
Cost: $ 12.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R6: 1, 3, 7
R7: 3, 4, 6, 10
R8: 2, 5, 7, 8
Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R9: 1
R10: 1, 4, 7, 9
R11: 3, 4, 8
Cost: $ 12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(3) POCA MUCHA was too far back and couldn't reel in the speed last time. Mott turns to Lezcano and I'm guessing they will be up closer today. We scratch down to four but all four have a shot. She has a win and a second at the Spa.
I’m looking for either (1) Rocky Sky to hold on or (5) Kalifornia Queen to get first jump on the speed and be close at the wire for the 2nd spot.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 3 w/ 1, 5 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (3) Poca Mucha in R3 and try to cash a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use (2) Grannys Connection and (6) Bank On Anna in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Double 3 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
(1) AMERICANREVOLUTION returns from a long layoff but still looms large here for Pletcher. He re-unites with Saez and the 1M makes the return less taxing. His speed figures are well above this bunch and it's hard to nt use on top. We will single this guy and move on tothe next one.
$ 7.00 Ex 1 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Race 10:
(1) MAGNILOQENT has speed which should play a factor in this outcome. If they leave her alone, I don't think they catch her. I'm playing it that one or two will likely go as well and hoping the one hole causes Magniloquent to use her self to get position. This would set up the stalker and closer. (4) DIAMOND COLLECTOR will get first jump here as she drops slightly and cuts back. Carmouche will need to keep her close so that she doesn't have too much ground to make up. She grinds it out rather than gobble up ground. That's where (9) LINARITE comes into play. She will set up shop in the back and wait for Johnny V's que. She has improved in her last few races and the switch back to dirt will not hurt her.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 4, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 11:
Several come out as this one moves to the dirt as well. (3) GHOSTLY GIRL has had some success going long with a couple of 2nd place finishes. This watered down field is just what she needs to try and steal it up front. (8) SWEETEST PRINCESS goes out for the hot barn and Javier has a win on her. They figure to get first jump and will try to reel in the front runner. I'll take a shot with the Army Mule filly, (4) SICILIAN GRANDMA. Her only win came on this track and Maker seems to be pointing to this one. She's been off since May but the works are steady. I think she may have found the right field and Tyler is ridig well these past two weeks.
