We are back to Friday racing at the Spa and you will never guess what we have on the radar; rain. We will be attacking our normal plays today and keeping an eye on the card for scratches. I will be looking to take down the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will have a couple of his “Play of the Day” picks and look to take down the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

R2: 5, 6
Cost: $ 18.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 5, 10, 11
R6: 1, 3, 5
R7: 2, 4, 5, 7
Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 8, 10, 12, 13
R9: 7, 8 ,9
R10: 10, 11, 13, 14
Cost: $ 48.00
Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(6) Vivid Dreams improved second time out in Monmouth and I am not deterred from this horse failing to win as the favorite last time out. I think that Irad will be sitting in a stalking position throughout and the experience will matter late. (8) White Chocolate is going to improve second time out in here after a nice showing on debut. This horse is coming off the shelf after a 8 month layoff and the morning workouts are showing this horse won’t miss a step from the gate. (3) Corey and Quinn is going to hit the front and not look to give it up. If this horse is left alone, then this horse may be too good to pass late and worth including. My last play will be (4) Crushed Ice who should be forwardly placed in here and I trust Castellano to find a lane late down the stretch.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 3,4,6,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3.4 w/ 3,4,6,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
Linda Rice is the play here and not going to overthink this one. (5) Luna Loca is my top pick in here with an expected improvement second time out from the claim. Jose Ortiz/Linda Rice is just too much at the moment to not let it ride. (6) T Max is going to be hitting the lead early and look to not give it up. This field is pretty weak and should have a good chance of wiring the field.
$5.00 WPS 5 Cost: $15.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I'll stick to the MTO's as we move to the dirt. (10) DUCKPHAT is a little scary to like as the 1 for 21 record jumps off the page. However, this mare has improved in her last two and posted a speed figure that stacks up against this group. She'll get lost in the betting and this looks as if it's now or never against this group. Santana was gaining a lot of ground last time against a Re-Pete winner. She looks very live to me at a generous price.
I’ll use (7) Western Lane and (12) Shigeko for the 2nd spot.
$ 7.00 WPS 10 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 7, 10, 12 Cost $ 18.00
We’ll also use (10) Duckphat in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(4) Stunningly or (8) Revolving Credit in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 10 w/ 4, 8 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
Only have three remaining in this off the grass 9F race. We'll use all three and move on to the next two.
(5) Royal Spirit, (10) Crupi and (11) Paddington.
$ 10.00 WP 10 Cost: $ 20.00
Race 6:
(1) Frozen Four and (3) Dancing Mischief should have another show down in here that most likely will result in one of these two horses breaking their maiden. I am only going to include one other that I am interested to see how they handle the surface switch and second time out in (5) Eric from Miami. I am going to take a gamble (nice) on this one in here.
$3.00 Ex Box 1,3,5 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
I am taking (7) He’s a Mess as my top pick in here with Luis Saez taking the mount. This horse is being shipped in and will be facing the best field he has faced to date and this horse looks ready to go. This horse is going to be forwardly placed under the aggressive riding of Saez and will be able to sustain a big race in here. (5) Costa Terra is coming in hot to this one after a narrow defeat and the quick turnaround should not hurt this horse’s performance. (4) Speed Bias is going to be coming down the stretch strongly late and Irad is streaking! I also cannot leave (2) Red Run in here who is getting some class relief and that will pay off late.
$5.00 WPS 7 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 2,4,5,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,4,5,7 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(13) ANTONIO OF VENICE was looking to play in the mud and he gets his wish. This Laoban has speed and a nice win over this track. The watered down field will help as he faces winners for the first time. (10) GO OTTO GO ships in for Asmussen and bred to like the off. He exits a stake race at Ellis and may find this group at little easier. Florent isn't winning many here but is over 50% hitting the board. They look live to me. (12) EL GRANDE O is Rice and Jose. They move this guy back to the dirt with some pedigree to handle it. (8) BILLY THE GREEK has a sharp debut win and retains Saez. I like that they break outside today as the didn't get away last time but was able to overcome it. I'll lean on this guy to catch the speeds.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 8, 10, 13 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(9) WENDELL FONG of a few years ago would dust this field but time has caught up to this Flat Out. Every so often he shows signs of his old self and he may have found the right field. (7) CEES GET DEGREES has speed and doesn't mind the off going. If they forget about him up front, the won't catch him. (8) RAM is the sleeper. This guy doesn't win much, only 2 for 29, but has been improving and working well up here. Lucas likes the spotlight and calls on Saez to put him in the winners circle. He's worth a shot at this 12:1 ML
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 8, 9 w/ 5, 7, 8, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(14) ASYMMETRIC will get a lot of attention. This MTO has mud lover all over him. He as to stretch out but this Upstart should be ok. Your likely winner to close the card. I'll use but look to pull off a minor upset with Creative Cause gelding (11) CUT THE CORD. He woke up in a big way last time facing weaker but did it right. Distance and moisture fits right up his alley and Carmouche gets the re-ride. (10) FACTUALLY CORRECT has Rudy and Lezcano teaming up. The Tourist like moisture and coming off the turf will help. (13) LITTLE MADDY BROWN brings his regular jock in to try the big leagues. It's not that much of a class hike for this guy and comes in with a couple of decent works.
Big mistake is todays write up! Unacceptable! Race 6, Eric from Miami. Is listed at the 5 horse! he is actually the 6 horse! be better
