Jim Dandy day at Saratoga and the weather appears to be cooperating. We have an 11 race card today and we will be looking to cover as many as we can. I will be focused on the early double (Races 1 & 2) and taking down a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will be locked into a couple of his "Plays of the Day" as well as the late pick 3 (Races 9-11). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
There are two horses I really like in here to show impressive early speed and have a battle throughout. That is (2) Swiss Guard and (5) Capture the Flag. The horse I am leaning on in here is (2) Swiss Guard. I think this American Pharoah son will show plenty of speed throughout and should stay on the lead throughout. I will be including a couple underneath, but sticking with these two.
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,3,4,5,6 Cost: $16.00
Race 2:
(8) Deccan Prince had a tough break last time out and was compromised in debut. I like Luis Saez sticking around and the bullet workout leading into this one. I like the further distance and expect to see an impressive horse. The Chad Brown in (6) C’est Magnifique looks great in the morning and getting a go at this distance on grass is a sign this horse is one of the impressive horses in the Chad Brown barn. My last play will be (4) American Hustle who is going to be able to handle this distance and I expect Dylan to look to forwardly place this horse in here. I like that aggressiveness and think this horse is around late.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 4,6,8 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(4) FULL MOON FEVER scratched out of a tougher spot Thursday and waited for this one. He finished behind Price Discipline two back and didn’t want any part of that one again. I was the right move as he jogged that day. Davis returns as he is very familiar with Fever. Irad will attract a lot of the money here on Endowed so the 6:1ML might hold up for Full Moon Fever. He has a little speed and this race lacks that so I wouldn’t mind or be surprised if Davis gets aggressive and make them come and get them.
Either (7) Bold Victory or (8) Endowed can grab the 2nd spot.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 7, 8 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (4) Full Moon Fevers in R3 and try to cash a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use (2) Lady Firefoot and likely favorite (8) Devilly in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 2, 8 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
(1) BANK ON SHEA has been facing open company this year and when he tried NY Breds, he ran into Ny Traffic. He gets a softer group today and picks up Carmouche who is 2 for 2 with Shea. There are four or five in here that want or need the lead to have any chance so I’m Banking on Shea to get a perfect set up. They should sit right behind and save some ground and tip out when they turn for home. 9:2ML fells like a gift and I’m taking it..
(4) Amundson wakes up every now and then and (9) Big Engine has a late kick that can get him there. Either one for 2nd.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 1 w/ 4, 9 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 6:
(1) Marvelous Maude is coming into this one with one after a win and looks to be in great form. (3) Finest Work has Rosario aboard and coming into this one winning two in a row. My top pick in here is going to be (5) Blissful who took an extended layoff since breaking her maiden last year. This horse is showing plenty of speed in the workouts and I like Saez to use that speed wisely.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,3,5 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
(4) Feather’s Road is my top pick in here under Lezcano who should be able to sit behind the speed to the inside and wait for the lane to open up late to have a convincing stretch drive. (5) Mister Chairman had an impressive debut at a claiming level and looks to improve from that effort. I will definitely include in here with the connections alone. (10) BuckorTwo from the outside is cutting back in distance a bit and the firm grass today should showcase this horses early speed. If others allow this horse to sit on the lead without pressing, then this horse is going to be a tough catch late. My last play will be (2) HeyMAckIt’sJack who had a troubled start last time out and still almost caught up to the pace of (1) Built to Last. I think with a better start that this horse to the inside will make a ton of noise late; likely favorite.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,4,5,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,10 w/ 2,4,5,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 8:
I get to close with (4) Jackie’s Warrior in the Gr.1 Vanderbilt and I do not see a scenario where he loses this one. I will be hedging a bit in case he isn’t on his “B” game and include an ascending (3) NY Traffic. This race should play out with (4) Jackie’s Warrior getting to the lead and never giving it up. If there is a stumble at the break, then I see (1) KneeDeepInSnow finding that early lead and challenge the heavy favorite to earn it in here. If that does happen, this is when I see Irad having a lane late to run down the battled leaders.
$10.00 Ex Box 3,4 Cost: $20.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
Epicenter has done everything right and deserves to be the favorite but I think he’s up against it today. Asmussen is not winning many here so I’ll beat him with either of the Brown two runners. (4) EARLY VOTING is scary good. With only 4 starts, he’s a neck shy of a G1,2 & 3 win. He’s a Gun Runner who is eating up this Spa track and potential lone speed up front. Joel may have to put pressure on Early Voting or this one is over. I have it playing that Rosario will get aggressive and a battle will take place. That’s why I landed on the “other” Brown
(5) ZANDON. The 1 ¼ Derby was probably a tad too far as he couldn’t get past Epicenter. This 9F cutback, coupled with an early battle, should set this guy up for a fast finish. I don't think we reached the bottom of this colt yet and today should be his coming out party as we celebrate Will's 30th party in the picnic area.
$ 7.00 Ex 5 w/ 2, 3, 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 4, w/ 2, 3, 5 Cost $ 9.00
Race 10:
(3) ORCHESTRATION is yet another Brown with some turf talent. He’s coming off a layoff but Irad shows up and his prior three races stack up well with this bunch. We’ll use but focus more on (1) BAY STREET MONEY. He switched to the turf this year and has responded well with his maiden score first time out on the new surface. He continues to improve and was a fast closing 2nd to Dancing Buck who won for fun here yesterday. (5) SHAWDYSHAWDYSHAWDY gets an upgrade as Castellano is on a mission early on in this meet. A must use for me at this 12:1ML with him up. We’ll spread out a little an include the two outside runners (9) IRWIN and (10) COLOSSEO. If either can work out a trip from out there and save some ground, they both have to late kick to make it interesting.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 3, 5, 10 Cost $ 18.00
Race 11:
We’ll finish the late Pick 3 with three older geldings to close out this Jim Dandy day.
(1) THE LAST ZIP is a City Zip so turf is his thing. He was claimed by Sharp two back and responded to his tutelage first out with a fast closing 2nd vs slightly better. A Re-Pete of that performance will do it for this guy. (7) JACK THE CAT gets a key rider switch and goes first time out off the Falcone Jr claim. He doesn’t have to tweak Jack that much as his last two would be enough to get his picture taken. With Rosario up, it certainly looks that way. I will be all over (3) BIG AGENDA in this finale. He too is fresh off the claim and Englehart gave him a breeze and then let him loose last week with a fast bullet. The cut back to 1M will give this Data Link a strong late kick and they bring Jose in to guide the way. All in!!
