Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Both Highly Flammable and Sugar Gray Leonard will likely battle for the favorite roll and no knock here. They both will make a run from mid pack and time it right. I want the NY Bred, (6) SANDRONE, to get the jump on them and hold them off. Saez will likely set up shop close to the speeds and then try to Run Away And Hide through the stretch. The slight cut back works in his favor as does staying on the turf.
I’ll use (5) Highly Flammable and (7) Sugar Gray Leonard for the runner up spot.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 5, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00
We’ll also use (6) Sandrone in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(2) With This Vow or (3) Pretti Xtreme in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 6 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
I am really liking the (1) Crown That Saint to the inside to be able to break clean from the gate and find a stalking position early on the rail. This horse is training well in the morning and I think Irad will have a fresh enough horse late to make a strong stretch drive. (9) Rock Star Boy ran a really well debut and Rudy Rod typically has his horses ready to break their maiden second time out; must play. (4) Balance Sheet should break to the inside of the speed and I think that makes a difference late down the stretch with a fresh horse for Manny Franco. My last play will be (8) ThreeWhiteSoldiers who is going to show early speed under Dylan Davis and if no one challenges him early, then it should be an interesting stretch drive.
$5.00 WPS 1 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 1,9 w/ 1,4,8,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,8 w/ 1,4,8,9 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(10) Ever So Sweet with the Prat/Cox combo is a winning play in here. I think this horse is forwardly placed and then fanned out wide to run down their foes. (6) Dancy Nancy is going to have the patented Chad Brown kick late down the stretch and is a must play. (8) Neom Beach is going to towards the back from the gate and Rosario will attack when they get halfway around the turn. This horse is going to be running their best race late and dangerous to leave off the ticket. (4) Lamorna is my last play in here which I believe to be stalking the lead from the inside and then Luis Saez will look for the rail down the stretch to put themselves too far from the closers.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,10 w/ 4,6,8,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,8 w/ 4,6,8,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
(1) Spirit of St Louis is the likely winner in here and getting (1A) Call Me Harry is an added bonus. Irad should be able to find a position towards the rear avoiding any traffic and then some early speed to run down late. The race should set up extremely well for this horse's preferred running style. For some additional coverage, I am looking at (3) Agent Creed to be set up well towards the speed and then be able to shake loose late to try and hit the wire first. (4) Conman is a 3 year old that has a wire to wire win last time out and I think is trending in the right direction. The field could get crowded late and I think the stamina on this horse is improving and we can trust Dylan Davis forwardly placed.
$3.00 Ex Box 1,3,4 Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(1) MOSIENKO was automatic this time last year but has had trouble finding the winners circle since then. Saez takes over which indicates the connections feel good about her form and chances. I'll use but try to beat her. (2) KNOW IT ALL AUDREY has speed to control and the cutback to 7F fits perfect. Irad will try to give her a breather early and hold them off late. I can't ignore the move to Rosario on (3) KNOWING GLANCE. She raced well here last year before taking some time off. She returned this Spring and Breen dipped in to snag her at 30k. She rewarded him with an easy win against NW3L last time out. She barely broke a sweat and they appear to be pointing for another try at the Spa. All systems go today.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 3 w/ 1, 2, 3, 8 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(1) ARI GOLD has the pedigree and connections and gets L1 for today. He looks tough in here and the inside draw only helps. A must use and likely winner. (12) NAPOLEONIC WAR has to deal with the outside draw first before he tackles the competition. It's not impossible especially when it's Brown and Prat. I doubt we get 8:1ML but he is coming off a year abscence for this. I want the Gargan runner (5) JAMES ALOYSIUS shipping in. He was a fst closing 2nd here last year and has improved every time out. Rosario needs to time it right but it's worth a shot at this 5:1ML. (7) EXACT ESTIMATE is the obviuos choice with Brown and Irad. He's a neck shy of being 3 for 3 on the turf. He should be tough even on the jump in class.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 5, 7, 12 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(7) RAMBLIN' WRECK comes in off a nice win against four contenders in here. He's two for two against NY Breds on the turf so a must use for me. (2) ITSALLCOMINGTOGETHA is where I landed. He breaks inside and has the speed to make it to the front before they hit the first turn. I don't see a lot of company either so Gomez can try to save some energy for later. He's bred to likel this 1M and the 6:1ML should hold up. (4) VACATION DANCE gets his regular rider back and has a win at the Spa. This one probably wants to go long so the stretch out helps. (8) TWENTY SIX BLACK is a War Dancer that has hit the board in all four tries. If Franco can work out a trip, they can mount a bid late.
